SAN BERNARDINO >> The Board of Trustees of the San Bernardino Community College District (SBCCD) named Dr. Wei Zhou as the new President of Crafton Hills College (CHC) and Diana Rodriguez as the new President for San Bernardino Valley College at their regular meeting on June 9. Both will start their positions in early July. SBCCD Board President John Longville said, “Finding two such qualified candidates for our campuses is tantamount to hitting a home run with the bases loaded. The Board is very pleased to have been able to provide our colleges and the community with strong, competent individuals who will keep the best interests of students in mind during these very complex times.” Chancellor Bruce Baron said, “I am looking forward to working with both Dr. Zhou and Ms. Rodriguez as we start our new academic year. Both are innovative, creative leaders with impressive backgrounds who are dedicated to student success. They are positive, hard-working and will work well with the various shareholders on their respective campuses.” Both expressed excitement about their new assignments. “I am honored to serve as the President of San Bernardino Valley College. This is a homecoming for me, since I was a counselor at SBVC. SBVC is a dynamic institution with excellent faculty, staff and administrators committed to transforming the lives of our students. I am looking forward to working with the innovative faculty and staff to expand the comprehensive nature of the college and to providing clear pathways to lead our students to achieve their educational goals." Under the general direction of the Chancellor, the college president plans, organizes, coordinates, directs and administers all departments, programs, activities, budgets and personnel of the college; implements District policies and procedures as they affect college activities; represents the college to the community and directs the development of quality educational programs; participates in the development, review and addressing of general District policies; performs related duties as required.
