On Saturday, March 7th it was a cool day for our Grand Terrace residents. Especially because the City of Grand Terrace was hosting its 13th Annual Walk on Blue Mountain. Volunteers were set up at various stations and markers that gave walkers due miles and traveled as well as the current altitude.
Residents from the city gathered together in groups to begin their hike up Blue Mountain. Groups consisted of families, friends, city workers, and scout packs. Hoisting flags as the marched up the mountain and enjoyed the beautiful scenery that the city has to offer. Each person and group passing mile markers as they worked their way up. Marking their accomplishment with each distance marker they passed in their path.
The feelings were high on this day for everyone in the community. With everything going on in the world it was a great moment to pause and appreciate everything that we have and the people in our lives.
The Walk on Blue Mountain is held annually and it gives members of our community a chance to gather together and embrace nature, and each other. We walk together on our prideful mountain and we help each other along the way.
