On Tuesday, September 4, 2018, 13 Colton High School cross-country athletes received medals for finishing within the top 20 for various categories at the Two-Mile Madness competition in Riverside.

The Two-Mile Madness competition was held at the AB Brown Sports Complex in Riverside and over 15 teams from various locations in Southern California participated. The host schools were Woodcrest Christian School and Colton High School.

“With a large event like this it was very enjoyable to see the students interact with students from other schools in a positive way,” Cross Country Coach Gary Frank said.

Frank was proud and honored to be the cross-country coach at this event and watch his players participate in the event.

“I was super excited to see all of our runners just finish the race,” Frank said. “I was at the start line and the finish line the entire race. You would have thought it was the Olympics with the determination on their faces at the end of each race.”

The Colton High School athlete medal recipients were:

  • Lesly Reyes
  • Jorge Vargas
  • Raul Villegas

The cross-country Yellow Jackets represented their school and organization in more than one exceptional way at the Two Mile Madness competition.
