The annual Spring Garden Festival and Standard Flower show will be held in Colton, CA at the Lawrence Hutton Community Center, 660 Colton Ave. on Saturday March 7, 2020 from 10 am to 4 pm. The show is open to the public, admission is free and anyone can enter horticulture exhibits. The show features horticulture including flowers, vegetables, fruits, nuts, decorative foliage, samples from trees and shrubs as well as outstanding and unique floral designs. The event also features education displays and information on upcoming garden related events. A new award will be given to an outstanding orchid that has been entered in the flower show in memory of Nessa Rosenbaum a long-time member of the Riverside/San Bernardino Counties Orchid Society. The memorial award for Jim Higdem a long-time member of the Inland Empire Master Gardeners Club will be given to an outstanding cactus or succulent. Educational presentations are Care and Propagation of Cactus and Succulents, How to Create a Fairy Garden, Hands on Designing a Petite Floral Arrangement. Vendors will be present ranging from plants to jewelry and other interesting items.
While you are in the historical city of Colton visit the museum, drive around and see some outstanding unique Victorian style mansions and get a feel for history. The Railroad is a major part of the history and founding of this city.
