Cranston Fire

 Yesterday’s fire behavior remained very active last night which was verified by infrared last night with an increase of hot spots detected; however, all hot spots remain inside the fire perimeter. Yesterday at 1800 California Incident Management Team 1 assumed command of the incident. The fire continues to be in unified command.INCIDENT FACTS

San Jacinto Mountains State Park closures: Due to the Cranston Fire the Idyllwild Campground, Stone Creek Campground, all wilderness campgrounds and hiking are closed until further notice.

Evacuation Center: Banning High School, 100 W. Westward Ave Banning

Animal Evacuation Centers: Dysart Equestrian Park 2101 W. Victory Ave Banning, CA

Riverside County Animal Services - San Jacinto Valley Animal Campus 581 S. Grand Ave San Jacinto, CA

Coachella Animal Campus (small animals) 72050 Pet Land Place Thousand Palms, CA

If residents need assistance with evacuating their animals call Riverside county animal services (951) 358-7350

Road Closures: Highway 243 is closed from Banning to Highway 74 (Residents north of Marion Ridge Drive with ID can enter at Banning). Highway 74 is closed from Borco Street in Hemet to Highway 371.

Mandatory Evacuations: Areas that are currently under a mandatory evacuation include: The  Mountaintop communities of: Mountain Center, Idyllwild, Hurkey Creek, San Jacinto Mountain State Park, Fern Valley, Pine Cove, Cedar Glen and all of Garner Valley.
