Arrowhead Regional Medical Center Receives Accreditation from ACGME

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) has received initial accreditation from the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) for its Emergency Medicine Residency Training Program. ARMC now has ACGME accredited residency programs in six specialties, which also include Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Psychiatry, and Surgery. The accreditation for the Emergency Medicine Residency Program is approved for four years, with eight residents per year. With the accreditation, the program is now recruiting allopathic applicants (physicians receiving the MD degree) in addition to osteopathic applicants (physicians receiving the DO degree). Those completing their residency and/or fellowship education in ACGME-accredited programs follow specific professional standards, with residents achieving common milestones and competencies to prepare physicians for a lifetime of practice and life-long learning. “ARMC strives to provide the highest quality of care to both current and future patients, and this accreditation provides assurance that our residency programs meet the quality standards of the specialty for which they prepare graduates,” said Dr. Emily Ebert, Designated Institutional Official.
