Photo Description:

With threats of "The Big One" being very possible, Moreno Valley residents are urged to begin preparing for any natural disaster emergency. The Office of Emergency Management provides information regarding how to prepare for such incidents.

Led by the Office of Emergency Management (OEM), City administrative leaders and staff took part in a mock activation of MoVal's Emergency Operations Center (EOC), with a very strong earthquake as the scenario. Why? So we can be better prepared to respond to a real emergency and safeguard residents, homes and businesses.  As rapidly and effectively as the City can respond in such an emergency, however, residents will likely have to help themselves and their neighbors while first-responders attend to the most serious situations first.  The time to prepare for that is NOW, and OEM can help. On their web page you'll find a ton of information telling you exactly how to prepare. You don't have to get it all done in a day, but today would be a great time to start!
