The Girl Scouts from Troop 76 are on a special mission to bring 100 birthday cards to local resident Toshiro Henry Kanbara. Kanabara turns 100 in March and the girls want to make sure his birthday is extra special.
Kanbara was born on March 29, 1920 in Oakdale, California. He enlisted in the Army, 1941.
He served in the Army PFC as a Combat Engineer from 1941-1945. He went to Italy, and his job was a Combat Engineer with the 232nd in the 442nd Regimental Combat Team . He prepared campsites and battle sites to get them ready for the infantry.
