Recently, a local ministry based in the city of Colton is attempting to make a difference in the lives of those who have been abandoned, rejected, and are often hopeless. A team of compassionate, caring, and determined individuals from Sovereign Grace Impact Ministries gathered together in unity to accomplish a goal-keeping the park restrooms open during their service times. The ministry holds their church service in the park on a regular basis. In an effort to deter criminal activity and rampant drug abuse, the public restrooms remain locked unless there is a specific activity scheduled at the park. In an effort to link arms with the city and help transform lives, the team agreed to meet and clean the restrooms as well as post volunteers at the doors while services were being held. The group of volunteers scoured the stalls, walls and floors until they brought them up to sanitary conditions. They took it a step further and prayed for the actual site and all those that entered or used the facility. As a remembrance, they posted a welcoming scripture over the entryway for all to know that the place is under a “spiritual reconstruction.”

For the last year, many lives have been impacted in the city of Colton. Sovereign Grace Impact Ministries is celebrating one year of ministry, in the city. Spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Pastors Ruben and Alice Cimental, both raised here in the city, have one mission in mind- win one soul at a time for the Glory of God.

For their Wednesday night service, the church meets out in Cesar Chavez Park at 7 pm for what is called Beyond The 4 Walls. Reaching out to those homeless in the park and surrounding areas, providing hot meals, groceries, and of course an invitation to receive Christ which will bring restoration to their souls.  Sunday morning service begins at 12 noon in the Gonzales Center where people lives are changing and transitioning to walk according to the ways of God’s Word.
